Transferring universities
You can transfer to another university if you’re unhappy with your current institution. You’ll need to research the new university, meet their entry requirements, and consider the financial implications. You might need to reapply through UCAS and restart your course in the first year.
Changing courses
You can change courses at the same university if there’s space and you meet the entry requirements. You’ll need to fill out an internal transfer form. If you’re changing courses in your first year, you should submit your application before the deadline, which is usually around the second or third week of your first term.
Clarifying details
Before changing universities or subjects, you should clarify the following details with the new university:
- Courses offered and when
- Semester structure
- Admission restrictions and enrollment
- University entrance qualification
- Transferring credits
- Study costs and accommodation
